The RISE Application Programming Interface (API) is a service offered by the Racing Information Services Enterprise (RISE). It offers a programmatic way to extract race data from RISE and re-use this content for a variety of purposes, including further analysis of the content or to build new online services.

RISE values creativity and encourages broad use of the API to encourage wagering. While we aim to make content as accessible as possible, we need to limit requests to the API to maintain the functionality of the API and the RISE service.

Your use of the RISE API constitutes your agreement to be bound by these Terms of Use as may be changed, amended or modified from time to time at the RISE’s sole discretion and without notice. These Terms of Use are to be read in conjunction with other terms on this website including terms as to privacy and copyright.

Contact information.

You agree to provide RISE with accurate and complete contact details and to inform us of any changes to that information.

Use of the API key.

Use of the API requires the issuance of an API key. The API key is not transferable and you are responsible for its use. If you are applying for an API key on behalf of a company or other organisation, you represent that you have the authority to bind that company or organisation.
Information about use. You agree to provide RISE with a description of any applications that include RISE’s content via the API. RISE will require free temporary access to publicly available applications or websites to ensure that these Terms of Use have been complied with.
Use. RISE may issue an API key on request. Specific written approval by RISE is required before any use. RISE will not enter into exclusive agreements with any commercial providers and will provide the same level of service for all. Only one key will be issued for use by each service offered by a commercial entity. Individual keys will not be issued for customers of that commercial entity.

Attribution.

You will acknowledge RISE as the source of your data.

Copyright.

Some RISE content is in copyright and owner rights must be respected. It is your responsibility to ascertain copyright status and clear copyright with the original provider before making content publicly available.

Removal of content.

You must remove or delete content you have obtained from RISE, in 30 days or less, if we request that you do so.

Termination of access.

You acknowledge that we reserve the right to cancel your access to the API service without prior notice.

Service provision.

Where possible, we will make new versions of the API backwards compatible, however we do not undertake to ensure backwards compatibility. You acknowledge that we reserve the right to turn off or modify the API service at any time without prior notice. You acknowledge that we do not make any undertakings with regard to service availability or performance. We reserve the right to limits calls on the API as required to maintain manageable demands on our servers.

Lawful use.

Your use of RISE content must be lawful. You will not display content obtained via the API in contexts that are defamatory, pornographic, obscene, threatening, offensive, invasive of privacy, or which would constitute or encourage a criminal offence, or give rise to liability under, or breach, any law, or that are detrimental to the reputation of RISE in any way.

Limitation of Liability.

RISE is not liable for any loss, injury, claim, liability or damage of any kind resulting from your use of the RISE API. RISE is not liable for any special, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages of any kind whatsoever (including, without limitation, legal fees) in any way due to, resulting from, or arising in connection with the use of or inability to use the RISE API.

Indemnity.

You indemnify RISE, its officers, directors, employees, agents, distributors and affiliates, and any third party information providers to RISE, from and against any or all third party claims, demands, liabilities, costs or expenses, including reasonable legal fees, resulting from any breach of these Terms and Conditions of Use by you. You must cooperate as fully as reasonably required in the defence of any such action.
